If a CenturyLink fiber plan is available in your area, we definitely recommend going with it, provided one of the two fiber plans is a good fit. Fiber Internet is fast and reliable, and CenturyLink offers its fiber plans at a very fair price. You can also get gigabit broadband speeds on the top-tier plan, which isn’t even available on the fastest Xfinity plans. So you’ll get great performance for a wide variety of tasks, including heavy workloads, participating in Zoom meetings, accessing files on cloud servers, and hosting live streams.
The reality is that fiber internet is available to a small number of CenturyLink customers. If you can’t get fiber, you’ll need to go with an unlimited internet plan, which gives you unlimited data (yay!) but not nearly as fast. It runs on DSL, basically copper cables on your home line.
