Just letting you know… metal combs are much better than electric combs. I generally do not recommend electric combs. But since people ask about electric combs, I thought I’d include one in my post.

Let’s get right into it… nits and flea eggs are the same thing! Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be. In this article, the two terms (nit and knit) will be used interchangeably.

A good comb is essential for quick and thorough lice removal. The mistake many people make when trying to get rid of head lice is to spend too much energy killing the adult lice and paying too little attention to removing the nits (nits) attached to the hair.

No matter what the lice treatment box says “removes lice eggs,” the nits in the hair will inevitably come out and within a few weeks you or your child will be completely infested with lice again.

If you don’t remove all lice eggs from your child’s hair, you will be surrounded by lice constantly. Maybe you are stuck in this cycle right now…

There are three reasons why flea eggs are so difficult to treat. First, flea eggs are incredibly resistant to all flea products and treatments, so they are impossible to remove. Second, they stick to the hair so they never “fall out”. Third, lice eggs have a strong protective shell around them that is impenetrable.

The best way to “kill” lice eggs is to remove them from the head, as lice eggs are resistant to chemicals, adhere to the hair and cannot be damaged. If you remove lice eggs from your hair and throw them in the trash, they won’t come out. Nits need the warmth of their heads to grow and reproduce (like a chicken lays eggs because it needs warmth to grow). Once removed from the head and heat source, lice eggs die quickly.

Removing lice eggs from hair is difficult. Anyone who has tried using the plastic combs that come with regular lice combs knows that they are useless. Most plastic combs are fragile and often break if your hair is thick. A plastic comb has teeth far enough apart that you can remove gunk even if you brush the same spot multiple times.
