Ranger School is not for the faint of heart. It is one of the most difficult and rigorous training courses for soldiers. During the period of 61 days, the soldiers were physically and mentally hindered by the weapons of war training. Preparing for the Ranger course is a huge undertaking. Successful students often seek help from more experienced fighters—mentors who can guide them and push them forward.

Zaccaria found a mentor in combat veteran and 9th Army Mission Support Command Staff Sgt. Jeremy Dornbusch, who took him under his wing. Dornbusch had to use several methods to challenge Zaccaria.
